In 2001, when Detroit Edison and Michcon (now DTE Energy) attempted to merge, the Federal Trade Commission required Michcon to auction a portion of its natural gas distribution infrastructure. Our supplier won that bid, securing the ability to provide discounted delivery services to specific areas in Metro Detroit.
This exclusive agreement with DTE Energy makes our supplier the only company authorized to offer select Michigan businesses an alternative for their natural gas delivery needs. By sharing delivery and capacity in DTE Energy’s natural gas pipelines, the Utility Alternative Savings Program offers:
